Cape Town Car Rental

Having a car in Cape Town is essential. There is no public transportation and all the best parts of Cape Town are not the city itself, but just outside. The good new is that driving is very easy and the roads are good.

We have used most of the car rental companies around the Cape and currently our arrangements are with National/Alamo who have provided an excellent service for our clients and unbeatable prices over the last couple of years. The deal we have means no annoying extra charges - book with us and:

- No contract fees
- No excess charges (see note 3 at the bottom)
- Free delivery for most Cape Town destinations
- Unlimited mileage

Most of our clients get us to meet them at the airport and then have car dropped off to the accommodation. We also able to arrange for cars to picked up in one destination and dropped off in another, particularly useful if you want to drive up the Garden Route and fly back (domestic flights are very good value in South Africa .)

Below are a selection of our cars and by far the most popular are the Group B for couples and small families and Group I for a bit more space. Price guides are below but for a confirmed quote give us a shout.

Group L

Basic small 2 door car like a Opel Corsa and with radio cassette player but no air conditioning, power steering, or central locking

Group C

Like a group B but with automatic transmission. Automatics are very expensive to rent in South Africa .

Group I

Small van with incredibly versatile seating - great for a family of 5 or 6 and even 7 if just going down to the local restaurant

Group Y

If you are a very big party (eg a Golfing Group) then Mercedes Vito will take 8 adults plus a good amount of luggage - alternatively a combination of a group I and B might be cheaper and give you more versatility.

Notes

1. For drivers under the age of 23 who have held a valid unendorsed licence for 2 years there is a young driver surcharge of $12 per day

2. The rates above are for 1 driver. Additional drivers are $17 per rental extra (not per day)

3. Our rates include free Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and the Theft Loss Waiver (TLW). In English this means that as long as you are sensible you are fully covered.

4. You will need to give a credit card to cover excess fuel and damage/loss not covered the CDW and TLW

5. There are various bits of small print (such as you have to pay your own fines) that you will sign for - copy on request.
